The Client
Topwatch (Powered by Watchbox) is South Africa’s biggest online retailer of pre-owned, exclusive and luxury watches. They also have a pair of flagship stores in Cape Town and Pretoria.
The Challenge
Topwatch came to us with a clear vision. They had worked with us before and trusted us to build exactly what they envisioned: “a first of its kind watch platform” in South Africa, to sell pre-owned watches online.
Topwatch wanted an online ordering system to showcase and sell pre-owned luxury watches. The system had to have an easy to use backend, database integration system (for newsletters) and a payment gateway. Despite a clear goal, there were quite a few challenges, from catering to all the user’s needs, to the figuring out of the best build approach.
More recently we have fully rebuilt the system with new branding and a more modern approach to cater for a fully responsive environment.
The Approach
We built a small, fully tailored and custom solution, which has since seen many upgrades as the business has grown. Topwatch has blossomed into an internationally recognised brand. This has brought a number of new and exciting challenges, including catering for a huge client database, integrating with Google shopping cart feeds, and facilitating email integration.
